About Michigan Assocciation on Problem Gambling (MAPG)
This organization is open to professionals, community people, students, and representatives from the State gaming industry American Indian Tribal casino representatives, Michigan lottery, horse racing and other professional members as approved by the Board. Gamblers in recovery and their partners are also welcome as members.
MAPG is the Michigan affiliate to the National Council on Problem Gambling. We take a neutral stand on gambling. We are an organization to help gamblers and their family members by presenting prevention and recovery information. Board members are willing to speak to service clubs, churches, adult groups, schools, news media and government agencies for the purpose of education and referral to services. We refer those seeking help to the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline 1-800-270-7117.
MAPG's success depends upon the involvement of its members and others who recognize that problem gambling is a public health issue. Anyone can become a member and participate in MAPG programs by filling out the membership application and mailing the application and membership fee to Judy Herriff , 5651 Bunker Rd.
